*ahem* “Nuisance Noise Now Nullified”

The hard part about making a great podcast should be capturing fascinating conversations — however, occasionally you listen back to a recording and realize that somebody was on a bad mic, or their mic picked up the air conditioner noise, or some other low background hum. Now you’ve got a great conversation, but it’s hampered by pesky background noise that is baked right in to the recording.

We wanted to see if we could do something to help podcasters in situations like this, and after a ton of work, we’re proud to announce that we’re launching Intelligent Noise Reduction in Cast’s Editor, for all Cast users on all of our plans (including our free trial).

In fact, we were so excited about the feature that we made a video about it:

Did we use Intelligent Noise Reduction to remove the noise from the sample clip in this video? Why yes, yes we did — thank you for asking.

Intelligent Noise Reduction is live in Cast’s Editor this very moment, so next time you’re listening back to a recording and realize that one of your guests was recording under a buzzing incandescent light, next to a fan, and the microphone picked up all of that, go ahead and flip the switch in the Editor and let Cast take care of it for you.

In the meanwhile, if you want to dig in and read a bit more about the feature, we’ve got an article in our Help & Guides all about it.

I’m on Twitter at @JulianLepinski, and when I’m not writing this article, I’m working on Cast — a product that makes it easy and fun to record, edit and publish a podcast.
